The "Francesco Ribezzo" Archaeological Museum is part of the Biblio-Museale Pole of Brindisi, managed by the Puglia Region. It is located in Piazza Duomo, a few steps from the Cathedral of Brindisi, and it's accessible from the ancient portico of the Knights of Jerusalem. The Museum Archeologico was established in 1884 in the municipal seat of the Temple of San Giovanni al Sepolcro, by the will of the archdeacon Giovanni Tarantini. Here the donations of some local collectors were initially stored and the materials found in the city excavations by Tarantini, contact person for the city of Brindisi, of the Superintendency of Antiquities and Art Works of Puglia.
