In Lecce you can take a fascinating journey through the history of transports in Puglia by visiting the Railway Museum of the Region, created by a group of enthusiasts of miniature railways, formed in 1997 in the AISAF Onlus (Associazione Ionico Salentina Amici Ferrovie ). The collection of locomotives, carriages and railway memorabilia has gradually grown, thanks to the availability of spaces made available by the Municipality of Lecce, and the acquisitions of rolling stock from the State Railways, the South East Railways and the Lecce Tobacco Factory .
