From Sunday 8th to Wednesday 11th of January 2023 "The Days of Fire" arrive in Castellana Grotte (BA).

In the context of “Piazze d'Inverno” that is programs of Christmas and winter events promoted by the Municipality of Castellana Grotte and “Grotte di Castellana srl”, and alongside the calendar of religious events planned by the Patronal Festivals Committee of Castellana Grotte, the initiatives that will compete to integrate the celebrations on the occasion of the 332nd anniversary of the miraculous liberation of Castellana Grotte from the plague through the intercession of Maria Santissima della Vetrana.

Faith and tradition, but also entertainment, charm and culture in a plan that obviously also aims at the seasonal adjustment of the tourist flow and the diffusion of the founding values of the Castellanese community among the many users who visit the city in the first days of the new year.

  There are many new features in the purely cultural program of events. Among these, on Sunday 8t of January 2023, at 7 pm, the historical re-enactment and immersive installations will make their debut in the historic center of "Ab Origine - Where it all began". Departure from Piazza Nicola e Costa for a journey of about 400 meters inside the center based on the story of the events that affected Castellana during the bubonic plague epidemic of 1690, with reference to the main historical figures and the customs and traditions that developed within the population during the epidemic. "Ab Origine" will also repeat on Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 January 2023, always starting at 7 pm.

  On Sunday of 8t January 2023, at Piazza Garibaldi, on the other hand, a concert by the Terraross, players and minstrels of the Bassa Murgia, a musical and research project aims to rediscover and enhance what was the culture of a time now lost.

  On Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th of January 2023, starting at 20 pm, in various points of the city and in particular in piazza Garibaldi and in piazza Nicola e Costa, the fire-themed artistic representations of the "Strade di Fuoco" project will  start. The event will see the participation of local and national artists of the "Street Fire Artist" sector, so-called street artists specialized in the domination and culture of fire.

  On Wednesday 11th of  January 2023, with the lighting of the Largo San Francesco bonfire at the Madonna della Vetrana Sanctuary, “La Notte delle Fanove” returns. When all the other fans at Largo Porta Grande, Largo San Leone Magno and in the city center turn on, the concert by Cipurrid, a popular music group that offers a musical journey that starts from Salento, will follow in Piazza Garibaldi at around 21.00.
